The Time Traveller’s Apprentice (2020) was a submission created for the 2020 Manga Jiman competition.

This project was created to address the theme of ‘technology’. As such, I focused on creating a short science-fiction story. I worked with a writer to come up with the pitch, and collaborated with them throughout the creation of the project.

From a personal viewpoint, this was probably one of the projects that I’ve had the most fun creating - not only did I create the 8-page comic book, but I also wound up making a series of pin-up illustrations. For some of these illustrations, I looked towards comics/art from specific periods (e.g. a Watchmen inspired 1980s piece, and a Golden Age pop-art piece set in the 1940s).
