Crime Works (2019-2020) was a collection of comics created in different formats and styles, experimenting with non-linear storytelling.
This project was created for my second year Illustration course at Arts University Bournemouth. Inspired by Chris Ware’s Building Stories, it was initially meant to be a curated box containing a series of pamphlets, booklets and a hardcover storybook. The main idea was to present the crime story in a non-linear fashion, allowing the reader to go through the comics within in any order. Unfortunately, this was derailed by the outbreak of COVID-19, which completed barred access to the necessary facilities for this original plan to be fulfilled.
As such, the project was converted to a digital collection, and a new short story was added - this time being designed in ‘wide-screen’, with the intention of being read on larger computer screens. Samples of this particular story can be seen on this page.
